One of my nieces is living a secret dream of mine. She is studying karate and I hear that she loves it and is doing really well. Oh to be that young again. I know I could start now since I have lost weight, but let's get real, I'm fifty-five. A vertical sleeve gastrectomy doesn't correct that!
At least I can live vicariously by buying her all sorts of cool karate things. Her mom says that she needs a new heavy weight uniform so that's first on my list. I also noticed a lot of cool gear bags on the AWMA.com site. A girl can never have too many bags, even if they are for karate. LOL They have special ones for all the different training weapons that are used in karate. The site also has apparel and gear for other martial arts and mixed martial arts as well in case you have someone to buy for who studies another one. I can't wait to see her in a tournament.

Home At Last
Our two week saga is over and we are finally home. It is good to be here. We are both thankful for the wonderful doctors and staff who took care of my husband. We also realize how lucky we are to have been treated at such a great medical facility. But no matter how good the staff and facility, there is no place like home. I am sure that he will heal even faster now that we are back in our own place.
Under What?
One of the side benefits of spending time in Gainesville with my husband's daughters is that I now have a good idea of what to buy them for Christmas.
It seems that both of them are seriously into Under Armour. I was like under what? I guess that shows how out of it I am. LOL If you don't know either it was developed by an ex football player to help heat or cool you during exercise. The HeatGear wicks moisture away from your body and can be worn alone or under something else. The compression of the gear helps with muscle fatigue. The ColdGear wicks away moisture and helps redistribute body heat so that your whole body stays warm. The girls like to jog so they like both.
Maybe I'll get brave and try some myself. I do walk as exercise after my weight loss surgery. It would be great to have something keep me cooler in the summer. I don't the weather being hot to sabotage my weight loss.
